Solar Power Vendors in Tiruchy Face Severe Delays in Bank Loans and Meter Supplies
TIRUCHY: Solar power vendors in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruchy district have raised serious concerns over prolonged delays in bank loan disbursements and a severe shortage of net meters.
The crisis is severely hitting the adoption of rooftop solar installations across the region. Local vendors report that commercial banks are taking months to process renewable energy loans.
This bureaucratic delay stalls residential and commercial projects indefinitely.
Customers grow frustrated with the sluggish financial assistance.
Furthermore, vendors face an acute shortage of essential net meters from the power distribution utility. Without these meters, completed solar units cannot connect to the main grid.
The bottleneck disrupts business operations for small and medium enterprises in the sector.
Many vendors now struggle to pay their employees and maintain daily cash flow.
“We face immense pressure from clients due to these administrative roadblocks,” said a prominent local solar vendor. “Banks demand excessive documentation before clearing simple green energy loans.”
The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation has not yet resolved the meter shortage. Vendors warn that the current stalemate could derail the state’s ambitious renewable energy targets.
Stakeholders have formally appealed to district authorities for urgent intervention. They demand streamlined banking procedures and immediate procurement of pending net meters.
Without swift government action, the local solar market risks a steep financial decline in the coming months.
