DSCI Launches Nationwide Cyber Security Awareness Campaign ‘Be Cyber Street Smart’
NEW DELHI — The Data Security Council of India (DSCI) officially launched a comprehensive nationwide cyber security awareness campaign titled ‘Be Cyber Street Smart’ on Tuesday to enhance digital safety across the country.
The initiative aims to educate everyday internet users about emerging digital threats, online financial frauds, and essential data protection practices. DSCI designed the program to bridge the growing knowledge gap in digital hygiene.
India currently faces a dramatic surge in sophisticated cybercrimes targeting vulnerable citizens. Digital adoption has outpaced security awareness among millions of new internet users. This campaign directly addresses the urgent need for robust grassroots education.
Organizers will conduct interactive workshops across multiple cities in the coming weeks. Industry experts will demonstrate how to identify phishing scams and secure personal devices. Digital toolkits will also be distributed through various community outreach channels.
“Citizens must develop street-smart instincts in the digital realm,” noted a senior DSCI representative during the launch event. “Awareness remains our strongest defense against evolving cyber threats.”
The campaign leverages social media platforms to reach younger demographics effectively. Regional language content will ensure maximum accessibility across diverse states.
DSCI plans to partner with academic institutions and corporate volunteers for future phases. Organizers hope to train millions of individuals before the year concludes.
