Police Detain AISA Member Neha Bora in Unmarked Vehicle, Union Claims

AISA Activist Neha Bora Allegedly Picked Up by Police in Unmarked Vehicle, Union Claims

NEW DELHI: Members of the All India Students’ Association (AISA) have alleged that student activist Neha Bora was forcibly detained and taken to an unknown location by police officers traveling in an unmarked vehicle on Tuesday.

The purported incident has triggered immediate outrage among student groups and civil rights advocates, amplifying longstanding concerns regarding police accountability, arbitrary detentions, and the suppression of student dissent on college campuses.

According to AISA representatives, the plainclothes personnel intercepted Bora without presenting formal warrants or providing clear reasons for the apprehension. Witnesses from the student union reported that the activist was bundled into a vehicle lacking official police markings, raising severe safety and due process concerns among her peers.

Police authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding Bora’s whereabouts or the legal grounds for her alleged detention, prompting student leaders to demand her immediate release.

AISA has announced plans for emergency protests across the city unless law enforcement agencies disclose Bora’s location and ensure her safety within the next 24 hours.
